Glad we booked Holsas Lodge at the last minute. Turned out to be perfect for us and the bairns enjoyed the play barn. Will keep…

  • We’ve had a wonderful time exploring Shetland – mainly in dry, clear, weather – from our base in Holsas. It has suited our purposes well and we were very pleased to be able to “put our feet up” in comfort when we arrived “home” each day.
    Best wishes to all

    Christine & Jim Love – 22nd August to 05th Sepember 2020

  • We have had another fine holiday in Shetland, seeing a few more places, despite the restrictions of Covid-19. Places mentioned above are well worth visiting. Also the cliffs at Eshaness, Bonhoga at Weisdale and the Shetland Bus locations at Lunna, Kergord and Scalloway. The accommodation at Holsas has been first class.
    Many thanks Hazel & Kenneth.

    The Smiths – Glasgow – 11th to 22nd August 2020

  • We have had a wonderful holiday in Shetland and Holsas has been the perfect base for us. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather and have spent sunny days at the beaches of St Nininas, Spiggie, Meal and West Voe. Seeing puffins at Sumburgh was a highlight too!
Our meals out at the Farm Shop Cafe were absolutely delicious – would definitely recommend it!
Having worked as a doctor during the COVID pandemic, this holiday has been a much needed family break and we are so happy we were able to make it! We will definitely be back.

P.s the kids loved saying hello to Buddy the pony every day 🙂

    Sarah, Al, Anna & Angus – Kirkliston, Scotland – 01st to 11th August 2020

  • We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holsas. Kenneth & Hazel & Family have gone above & beyond to kale sure guests have everything to make them feel at home. Our kids loves the ‘playhouse’ & the games/books. The excellent Farm Shop nearby was a great stop for breakfast & some shopping.
    Thank you!

Scott, Kim, JW & Jossy from Texas – 7th to 14th October 2019

  • Our first visit to Shetland – a very special place indeed.

  • Great Island, great lodge = GREAT TIME!!

    Mick & Eileen Joy – Surrey – 31st August to 7th September 2019

  • I really enjoyed it. I liked listening to the Shetland style music, the view was beautiful and I saw wildlife, rabbits and Curlews. It was beautiful for the family. Thank you for choosing this one for us to stay!

    The Lynam Family – 16th to 24th August 2019

  • Thoroughly enjoyable stay, lodge was perfect – would love to stay here again in future. Playhouse a great touch for amusing our daughter.

  • Beautiful & comfortable house! Shetland is a so quiet & beautiful place! A little secret garden of the world. I like so much ponies but I have discovered too: wild flowers, beautiful landscapes, viking history and so much more!
The view of Holsas Lodge is perfect (without fog! lol). All was good for our stay!
Thank you very much! Your ‘shop & cafe’ is good too!
    Regards
PS: the ‘playhouse’ is very great for children!

The Jung Family from France – 02nd to 09th August 2019

  • Had a wonderful, comfortable stay – everything here you could possibly need & made the stay very easy. The views from the windows are great & the birds have been a great delight to all four of us, keeping the 8 yr old happy for hours.
Good luck in the future both here & in your new shop & cafe – which is a great asset to the area.

Pat, Carol, Izzy & Liz, Cumbria, Somerset & Leics – 20th to 27th July 2019

  • Had a great time in Shetland – visiting old work colleagues from days @ Gilbert Bain and showing boys round Shetland!
Weather was mixed but mostly dry. Experienced “real” fog – quite scary to drive in – used fog lights for first time 🙂
Great wee cottage. Unfortunately having to leave a day early as one of the boys has camp on Saturday!

    Fiona, Pete, Fraser & Ewan Preston, Bo’ness – 6th to 12th July 2019

  • We have had a great time here with more sunshine than we expected although came with a very cold wind!

Some of our highlights were – Sumburgh Head, Jarshof (amazing!), Eshaness, St Ninian’s Isle and Scalloway Museum. Another was catching the ferry to Yell and then onto Unst – a great day. We also vey much enjoyed driving around the Mainland & seeing the very varied views and so many interesting things and places.

Also enjoyed this excellent accommodation & beef and lamb from the Croft bought at the cafe. Fish from Blydoit’s in East View was also delicious.

    Mike & Jocelyn Parsons, Northants – 29th June to 05th July 2019

  • Our first holiday in Holsas (we previously used Boitan next door) and it has been as enjoyable as our previous holidays. The weather has controlled our exploits, but we have enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Looking forward to our return in 2020 🙂
    Many thanks.

    Derek & Jacqueline Jones – 15th to 29th June 2019

  • A lovely spot to come back to after a day of walking, particularly on those unseasonal days of cold, wind and rain. As usual, Shetland redeemed itself with some glorious days displaying it’s beauty. Thank you.

    Catherine Guy – 30th May to 08th June 2019

  • Holsas has been our comfortable warm home from home for the past ten days.  We had amazing adventures on Shetland and each evening we looked forward to coming home to Holsas.  Our children loved playing in ‘their’ playhouse!  The neighbours were lovely and friendly.  As if that wasn’t enough I discovered nesting Curlews on the Croft which are endangered in Ireland so what a treat! We look forward to coming back 🙂

    Emily, Mack, Morals & Maria, Ireland – 18th to 28th May 2019

  •

We had a lovely stay here, it has been a cosy and comfortable lodge.  The views were wonderful.

So much to see and do.  Highlights included Sumburgh Head & Jarlshof, St Ninian’s Isle cliff walk, Golf on Whalsay, Papa Stour, Mousa & Noss.

    Thanks very much.

    The Murphy’s, Edinburgh – 6th to 14th July

  • Our second holiday staying here and it felt like coming back home.  Boitan is a well equipped lodge and for us it is simply “peace and quiet” with a wonderful view.  We had better weather than last year and as a result, more walking opportunities.  Jacqueline is totally refreshed after a fortnight in peaceful Shetland and whilst not looking forward to going home to work, is a bit better prepared.  We look forward to returning in the future but that is looking to be in 2020 as Boitan will be “off the market” until then.

Thank you for more wonderful memories.

    Derek & Jacqueline Jones – Tyldesley, Lancs – 16th to 30th June

  • Very comfortable stay in this well equipped lodge.  Central for exploring Shetland and other Isles.  An amazing holiday seeing so much wildlife and lovely remote beaches. Very relaxing way of life.

Two main aims were to see Puffins & Shetland Sheepdogs (Sheltie’s) – lucky to see both.  Thank you.

    Christine & Bill – Stratford Upon Avon – 9th to 16th June 2018

  • Thanks for a wonderful stay in your comfortable and well equipped lodge which also has such amazing views and bird life in adjacent fields.

Our time in Shetland has been fantastic and blessed with glorious weather.  I am sure we will be making a return trip.

    David & Karen Hassall, Nantwich, Cheshire – 02nd to 9th June 2018

  • It has been lovely to stay at Boitan – comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. Thank you for providing a wonderful base for our 2 weeks here
